Prayer Answered! Update by Giselle at 6:37 pm on Thu 8/8/2013 Well, today is Joshua's birthday - 2 years since he celebrated his last birthday here on earth. He is 13 now - his second year in heaven. How are we or where are we now? It has been a difficult, arduous journey when you lose a love one or love ones in our case. All 5 gone...multiplied by the families concerned, we have a lot to pray for and look after. But God is on our side forever nurturing us in every situation as long as we keep the faith.
This prayer request hasn't been forgotten. There are constant streams of prayers coming from you and I am truly grateful for your time. More so thankful to God who constantly reminds us about keeping close to HIm through His words- the Bible. All this time God's Grace has given my family - Hearthy specially and myself the courage, encouragement and wisdom to live life after our tragedy. God eases away the pain that we are going through, one day at a time. I still weep and ache when I am reminded of my grandson Joshua. He was the center of my concern, my prayers and focus. But I realized that when Josh passed away, my focus now is The Lord above all else. The world least matter to me now...the things, everything that I couldn't take with me when my life is taken, has lost its luster. I can face the reality of death without fear. I look forward to meeting The Lord when my time is up here on earth. So I am preparing my journey here on earth in a different way, that of living life with God's purpose in my heart. I want to be in Heaven like the others. My husband and I both desire to be in Heaven. We are praying for Hearthy to be strengthened in her faith though and that needs a lot of prayers. But God is All Powerful. I trust He is taking care of us all.
An update on Hearthy, my daughter and Joshua's mother - her desire is to teach little kids, kindergarten. So I'm praying (and please help me pray) that her direction in life will be brighter after all that she's gone through. Her emotion's up and down but what is encouraging is that she has now the intention to do something, be more active and get back on her feet again.
So my friends, I conclude this request with utmost gratefulness for your time, focus and concern. Thank you for the over 1000 prayers all together with the other related request. GOD ANSWERED OUR PRAYERS...PRAISE GOD.
I am praying for all your concerns - known or unknown even if sometimes you don't see me clicking online (because my computer sometimes play up and it takes a long 'journey' before I could get around the web at NPB) but I pray and pray for requests that lands on my emails. Praying for others is a commitment that I find very fulfilling and I must mention Marlene - she encouraged me to be a prayer warrior after what had happened. Thank you Marlene and the rest of the NPB community and prayer warriors. While others physically travel on a mission trip wherever God sends them to different corners of the world, God put us together on a mission through NPB whilst sitting in front of our computers and that is equally fulfilling God's plan for us all. Let me share with you God's word from Luke Chapter 12.
“I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him. Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows." Luke 12:4-7
Original Prayer Request
My daughter Hearthy's son Joshua, my one and only beloved grandson, died from the flood in the southern philippines. Please pray for me and my family, that God will give us strength, that my daughter will have the faith and courage to face all this. For me to keep the faith and strength, to keep Praising no matter what. The loss of a loved one is beyond description. My daughter and I need God's divine touch.
My daughter Hearthy will be travelling tonight back to the Philippines, to Cagayan de Oro, to be with her son. I am not going for practical reasons, money that I will spend for fare, I would rather send there. There are at least 5 in my family who perished apart from Joshua. My Dad, brother and sister lost their homes.
Please help me PRAY that she will be given the strength to face the reality once there. I am mourning myself in my own way, preferring to stay rather than go there. So please help me pray for the whole family to ease the pain and suffering from this tragedy. We are thankful to God that the bodies of our loved ones were found immediately. We didn't have to search and they were given early treatment at the morgue.
Around them are the less fortunate, who could not have closure, who are still searching for their lost loved ones, who have NOTHING left but their own selves. I urgently plead for all brothers and sisters to PLEASE PRAY FOR THE VICTIMS. It is the most precious gift you can ever give and through our urgent prayers, I am sure God will do the rest.
Thank you and God Bless you all. i will keep you updated as the day progressed.
