Welcome to the Prison Ministry Prayer Group where we pray for the prayer requests of those in prison. Have you ever wanted to reach out to some of the most lost and forgotten?  A number of prison ministries post prayer requests from inmates. Your prayers for these prison inmates call down the power of God to change lives.   As a member of this group, you will receive prayer requests of inmates so that you can pray for them.  We also pray for those who are ministering in the prisons.

Remember the prisoners, as though in prison with them, and those who are ill-treated, since you yourselves also are in the body.  Hebrews 13:3

Karina, my half sister
by Yolanda . at 7:32 PM on Mon 8/5/2024
Update #1 by Yolanda at 6:59 pm on Sun 1/5/2025  I want to thank Naomi and everyone else who has said a prayer for Karina. Her final court date is on January 10th. She has been in jail for five months. She has caused a lot of pain to the family, especially my dad. He has been extremely sad. Please pray for her final court date and for her heart to be transformed, and that she will accept Jesus as her Savior.
Original Prayer Request

Hi, will you please pray for my half sister Karina. She is in jail for making wrong choices. She is only 21 years old. Please pray that God's angels will camp around her and protect her. She is not a Christian, she has lived her young life in a hurry and made many wrong choices. I know they have bible studies and services in jail. I pray that she will get to know Jesus as her Savior. I pray she will learn from the mistakes she has made. May the Lord bless each one of you, may He meet all of your needs.

Peter
by Helen M. at 7:06 PM on Mon 3/15/2021
Update #8 by Helen M. at 2:24 pm on Sat 7/24/2021  Hello everyone. I'm afraid that Peter's date for sentencing (July 9th) went by and they postponed it till August 9th. So he and his mom are waiting yet again. His mom probably needs more prayer than he does by now. Elena has always been very anxious but having lost her mom and then with her son in jail, she is beside herself. The waiting is very difficult for her and she's very worried about what will become of Peter.
Original Prayer Request

Please pray for Peter who was recently incarcerated. Please pray for God's protection; for help in the recovery process; for his health; and for a miracle in his situation.

by Cindy W. at 2:36 PM on Wed 3/25/2020

Hello!

Thank you for your faithfulness in praying for inmates. I haven't been to the jail since Feb due to a cough. Once I was ready to return, our state came out with new guidelines, including no visitors to the jails or prisons. I know it's going to be especially tough for them during this time.

Below are a few prayer requests from the last time I visited:

Tina--I'd like prayer for my family, friends & for me to be happy, safe & healthy and that my time goes by quickly. Thank you.

Natasha (this was her first Bible study! Her friend had encouraged her to meet with me the previous week while I was visiting as a chaplain : ) --I would like for a prayer to be said for my son J. It's his birthday soon and he's been in a special needs home since he was 5 years old. He has high special needs and his health is good but his needs are high. Also, for my two girls K who is 8 and K will be 7, and my case, that everything will go well and I get released soon.

Monica (I was especially disappointed that I couldn't connect with her as she was scheduled to be released while I was out sick)--I pray that court goes as planned & my time goes by fast for the couple weeks I have left. I pray for my fiance, that he might not be going to prison & that we reunite soon. (They haven't known each other very long. Pray for clarity and wisdom for them.) I also pray that I am able to stay sober once I am out of jail & can get into treatment.

Thank you and be well.

Sincerely,

Cindy

Update #2 by Cindy W. at 2:28 pm on Sun 4/5/2020  Hello again, Based on guidance from our ministry, I've been able to get weekly Bible studies into the tanks (group cells) that I used to be able to visit. With ministry letterhead I have a cover letter to the deputies, then I check the jail roster for the current names, and I mail the letters/Bible studies to the individual inmates. The jail population has decreased so I know that our county is doing all they can to keep everyone as safe as possible. Please continue to pray for the inmates and their families, and the deputies and their families. God bless you, Sincerely, Cindy
Original Prayer Request

Last week, Tracy & I went to the jail and spoke about Luke 15—the lost sheep, the lost coin, the lost son(s).

Here are the prayer requests.

Anonymous—I would like to pray for my case, that I am able to get residential DOSA (Drug Offender Sentencing Alternative is a reduced prison sentence if a chemical dependency treatment program is completed) & into treatment…that my time continues to go as easy as it has been. I pray that my fiancé continues to find strength to stay sober, especially when he goes to prison, whenever that may be. Also, I pray our families are safe & healthy.

Amber—Pray for the strength & willpower to do what I need to do to get my baby back.

Candace—dear Father Yahweh, please know my prayers better than I know them.

Thank you for your faithfulness.

Hello,

Our jail ministry includes several teams of Bible study leaders. Below are the prayer requests from the team that went in earlier this week.

Monica—I pray that my court goes well and that I am granted the opportunity to do drug court. I hope that I can continue working toward getting back in my family’s life and being the best me I can be. I pray that my boyfriend is able to do his time in prison & it goes by fast for both of us and that we continue to stay sober.

Jessica—that everybody stays happy and healthy and I can be married to T and get my own place with him to start our own family along with our family started already.

Anonymous—pray for my nephew. He is 21 and getting a pump put into his hear.

Anonymous—I pray that I can find the right answer on what to do with my case (if I should take the plea deal or go to trial) and that my time here goes by fast. I pray that my fiancé and I find the strength to continue our sobriety once we leave the facility and are on the outs. I pray that our families allow us back into their lives more as we continue our sobriety.

102 Prayers for
Women's Jail Ministry
by Cindy W. at 6:37 PM on Fri 1/31/2020

Last week, Tracy & I went in to the jail for the Bible study. Along with some teaching on prayer, I also introduced them to a relapse prevention tool (called the Faster scale). So many of the women struggle with addictions. We acknowledged that most of us have less than ideal ways of handling life’s challenges. Some ways are legal; others are not.

Here are the prayer requests:

Sherry—I want to pray for my family & loved ones while it’s snow raining & stormy out there to be safe, warm & cozy. And I want to pray that my mom gets great news whenever she goes to court soon. And I want to say thank you to all the great & amazing people I’ve met, throughout this journey I’m experiencing & for you ladies for taking time out to come join us here and give us good advice & education on our Lord. Much appreciated.

Aaron—Can you please pray for my family’s wellbeing. My sisters S & V & my niece X = and for my mom’s recovery. Also, for the whole tank (group cell) to have peace of mind & get along well. Also, for my recovery and getting into treatment.

Anonymous—for my kids K, H, S & A; my dog Rocky; my mom C; my brother C

Sandra—I am thankful. Keep my family safe from harm & danger and keep them healthy. Keep the Lord’s hand on my 5 boys day and night. Bless my relationship, that we may get married and have God’s blessing on our marriage. Help me to find a better job and get a home for my family.

Candace—Dear father Yahweh, thank you for everything. Watch over us as we sleep. Watch over my family and B. Please do not allow World War III. Keep the world going. Watch over R, C, P, C, M and all their families and pets. In the name of Yeshua. And for D and J, may they rest in peace.

Thank you for your faithfulness.

106 Prayers for
Isaiah
by Michelle M. at 7:07 PM on Sun 1/19/2020

Praying for my friends son, Isaiah, he needs a miracle.  The Lord has put it on my heart to pray for him. He's been in jail for a while, before he was arrested he (month's ago) he went to church with his mom and went up for prayer. A few days later he was picked up on an arrest warrant for something that happened some months ago, he was trying to work out his legal issues. We know he made a mistake and was with the wrong crowd and is probably not able to tell what actually happened out of fear (especially that he's in jail) but he is young and repentant. His mother's (Theresa) heart is broken. He hasn't had good legal representation and recently accepted a plea. I told Theresa to have faith and pray. I am believing with her for God's mercy, for divine turn around in this situation and that he would not be sent to prison but released. Thank you for your intercession.

Happy New Year!

Here are the prayer requests from right before Christmas. We were able to hand out small, pink Bible to each of the women and they were appreciated. It was their only Christmas gift.

Anonymous—please pray for God to show himself to me in my life, to be real and help me heal in my addiction. I want to be present in my family’s life and I want to be healthy to see my grandmother before she passes away in her old age. She prays everyday to deliver me from addiction and I want to follower her way in Christ.

Anonymous—I pray that my boyfriend J can find himself free from addiction and be present in the lives of his 3 daughters. As my father wasn’t in my life, I know how important having a dad is for a young woman. And for my son to be physically strong and mentally sound. Thank you!

Mariah—Please pray for my sobriety, for my fight to stay clean, to get a good job, to move into my new home, and to have my daughter back with me. Also, for the strength to keep fighting for my rights to get my son. His dad has full rights and custody and I’m trying to get my rights back. Thank you!

Joyce—For the people in jail away from their families. For my pets, sister C and all her help. For my children C & M and for the 3 who have passed away—C, T & T. For my parents D & J. For the ladies for coming (the jail).

Even though the jail library remodel isn’t done, we were permitted back in the jail to do Bible studies in the rec area, so that’s been a blessing after a month of not being able to go in.

Here are the prayer requests:

Anonymous—please pray for freedom from drugs and any behavior that overruns our lives. Thank you, God bless!

Leesha—for closure on court cases and closeness for family in new beginnings. Prayers for friends & better ways of living life: Hope after Dope. New housing.

Janet—to each one of my siblings that they are safe, that they know that their sister is and always will be close to them in heart, mind and spirit. And I love them with all my heart. To my mother, that she knows her children are safe. Mom, I love you.

Teri—I pray for peace of mind & anxiety to be lifted. I pray for my kids to be taken care of and my court to go smoothly.

Carla—Pray for an early release so that I can get proper medical attention to avoid permanent damage. (She had broken her leg; it was healing; she’s not allowed to wear her boot in the jail; the bones not mending straight and is painful.) I pray that my daughter finds comfort. I pray for strength for me to do the proper things to get my daughter back home. I pray for my daughter & nephew to see the light & come out of the darkness of depression. I pray for my mom to be content. I pray that my sister & brother in law find their way. I pray that I find my way to a healthy life with my partner and our children together, so that we can be healthy & happy. Amen & always.

Thank you for your faithfulness.

We have bible study every day so it's neat. I only have a few minutes so I will write back more later but a few girls from bible study have prayer requests to add to the database I hope that is ok they were all so pumped about it when I told them about it. Let me know if you can add the following requests

Rose would like everyone to pray that she gets a good address she can release to where she can be clean and sober.

Sussie asks that you please pray for her return home soon.

Lori asks that you pray for my daughter Kelsey for when she is released from jail that she has someplace to go and stay away from drugs. Also, she asks that her daughter finds God and some good people in her life.

Knowing that they're being prayed for gives so much hope! Thank you thank you,

Original Prayer Request

Hello!

One of our Bible study leaders from the tank (group cell), Jen, has been transferred to a federal jail south of here. Her cell-mate is a woman named Granny. Jen asked that we pray for her. She's in her 70s and really missing her home, family and community. When Jen told her about the National Prayer Bank she was excited to give her permission to me to post a prayer request for her. She's hoping for Compassionate Release--and early release for extenuating circumstances.

Thank you!

Sincerely,

Cindy

Hello,

Please continue to pray that we will be able to go back into the jail soon for Bible studies. For now, the library (where we meet) is being remodeled. However, I have been able to go in as chaplain and meet with the women individually.

Here are a few requests.

Natalya--that she will be released at the end of the month. Pray for comfort, rest and guidance for her. She wants the desire for drugs to be taken away so that she can be freed. One of her challenges is a lot of knee pain. Unfortunately, illegal drugs are sometimes the best alternative when physical therapy, surgery or other meds are unavailable or unattainable without insurance.

Jennifer--has been sent to federal jail for her federal trial and is looking at a possible minimum of 10 years in federal prison. Pray that her faith practice will continue and that the court outcome will be the best for her (eternally). She's been a leader in the tank (group cell) and is enjoying the Life Application NLT study bible I was able to get to her.

Bree--will be released by Thanksgiving. Pray for wisdom, discernment, calm and patience for her as she re-enters with her family. Pray for her clarity and focus as she navigates how to stay married to the man she loves, who is the father of her children, and who can be very violent. Pray for her strength to keep herself and their kids safe, even if that means that she leaves him. Pray for housing and a job.

Thank you for your faithfulness.

GOO:  Please pray for myself to be safe in the jail, pray to Jesus for protection  all the time.  Pray for my family for protection, in the last week they went back to Guatemala until I get out of jail/prison.   Thanks!

ZL:      I pray for my family and my wife to give her the courage to do right and get it together for our son (who is living with his grandmother.  I also pray for my father who just lost his ex-wife.   Please give my wife protection while she is out on the streets.  I thank you, Lord.

SMP:   To be honest, most of my time feels just like suffocating as I reach out to God in hope and then falling short because of my sin nature.  I’m afraid and sorrowful as I’m missing a family that I will never have.  Please pray for my wife to come to faith and for the Lord to lead me to freedom.  Thanks for your prayers!

BV:      Please help me to keep calm and to trust in Jesus; to walk near Him always when I get to prison.

79 Prayers for
Women's Jail Ministry
by Cindy W. at 7:25 PM on Mon 10/21/2019

Last week, Tracy & I went into the jail for our Bible Study. I’d planned to talk about God as Judge, but instead we spoke about forgiveness and prayer.

We have a couple praises: that the deputies have been allowing more women to come to the Bible Study; and I’ve heard from several women about the increase of prayers in the tank (group cell) and how they’re able to see God answer them.

Here are the prayer requests.

Amanda—for my family and my friends, my puppy, L to get low bail, A to get on a good path. Please help me find my path and pray that the rest of this time goes fast and happy. Pray for Thursday to go well for A and me.

Anonymous—For my children J, S & S to find a home with their children. For J. Pray for understanding and patience for my brother, that he’s able to forgive himself. Pray for W & K & A, that they have patience with the 30-day commitment. Pray that I can quickly and safely get to my auntie’s in C. Pray that we stay in each other’s prayers, that we’re humble and pray that J’s family is safe while we I finish our time.

Maggie—first off, I’d like to give thanks for God’s will over my case! It’s been dismissed! Please continue to pray for my mom’s health & protection for her and that she will come live w/ me in S. Please pray for my sister S’s health & her court cases in her favor! Please pray for my sister A’s mental health; for R’s work & living situation & all of my family. Pray protection for me from my addiction; for the job in the slope; for an apartment and a church; for the right people in my life; for my driver’s license. But most of all for my mom’s health and for S & G to be able to go to rehab. Thank you for all your prayers.

Hailey—for K, J & P & R. I pray for my family’s healing in time from any pain I’ve caused; to be released soon; to start over and show everyone my true heart and soul. I ask for forgiveness for my sins. I ask for help to stay clean & sober; for strength to stay away from my abuser; to fix thinks between R & I.

Aaron—Can you please pray for my success in drug court & also A’s success as well in drug court. Also, for my friend L that her bail is reduced and that she is bailed out by the time I get out of treatment. Also, for my friend J and her daughter and family for their well-being & peace of mind

Anonymous—I pray that my bail gets lowered please & that my brother keeps his head up in (another county) & that my boyfriend stays safe till he bails me out & that we continue to get along : )

Anonymous—please pray for my daughter S & my parents taking care of her, specifically her health. (She has diabetes.) Also, that I get residential DOSA (Drug Offender Sentencing Alternative) so I can get treatment; for my fiancé D to be clean with me and to stay faithful. Please pray for the obsession to use to be lifted.

Anonymous—for my family & understanding while I go through treatment & recovery; for forgiveness & help w/ getting into drug court ASAP.

Gloria—I want my sons D & H to have the power to make their way through this difficult time that both their father and I are in jail and fighting addiction. Give E & me the power to stay clean & sober.

Analisa—Dear God please help my family understand forgiveness and help me get into treatment. I’m newly 20 and this is my first time in jail. I have a high school diploma from a private school & want to join the Peace Corps one day. Please allow me to be forgiven for my sins & allow me to make amends to the people in my family, my friends and the one man I love. Amen. (Pray for her mental and physical health.)

Tracy & I were in the jail and because the women are hungry for prayer, we had more teaching on that. The lesson was on prayer, including the prayer attributed to Saint Francis. I also shared some of the words of encouragement from the National Prayer Bank with the women. They were astounded that people around the country are praying for them.

Anonymous—for my family and friends and Hazel my dog. For all the girls in the tank (group cell). For drug court to let me in. Please take away all of my obsession to use. For S and her journey to lessen. For the storm to calm. For J’s bail to be reduced.

Anonymous—please pray for my children and ex husband during our family separate. Also, for a calm, peaceful life for all. And strength for me to fully beat my addiction and obsessions.

Aaron—pray for our families who struggle without us; that I please get into drug court; peace of mind for my friend L; that everything goes well for her in her case; for all of us in the tank (group cell), that we are blessed with everything God has in store for us.

Anonymous—prayer for healing from recent grief and loss of relationships and death of loved ones (including a miscarriage). Healing of current relationships.

Rachel—pray for my artistic abilities to flow like a flood again… & to get 24 months or less when I get sentenced next week. Thanks be to God.

Anonymous—prayers for my mommy who has had cataract surgery & a torn tendon in her ankle. Women's Jail Ministry

Here are the prayer requests from one of the other jail Bible study teams.

Lana, please pray that the prosecutor for my court case stays humble and offers me the least amount and that my court on Thursday goes as it should. Pray that I trust in God & let him run the controls and that when I’m released, I’ll abstain from my old ways & continue my path to righteousness.

Aaron, please pray for that I be blessed for the chance to be in drug court.  Also, for my friends and family to have strength while they are in the world.

Amanda, pray for all of my friends and family outside; the girls in my tank (group cell); for the storm to calm each day; for me to be happy; for the days to go by fast; for drug court to be open to letting me in quickly.  Help me at my best spirit and in drug court.

Steph, my request is to pray for my family, for me, and for all the women in my tank and their families.  Please pray for my court case.

Jen, I would like for everyone to pray for changes in drug laws, and freedom from jails and institutions for all drug users and legalized drugs.  It will take the money away from the cartels.

My prayer request is that I get sentenced and sent to prison before Oct so I can start my time so I can get out to be with my daughter.

My prayer request is that my toothache goes away and that we get new girls to come soon and that my relationship gets better and I get a visit from him and time goes faster and I’m thankful for what I have

For my children and family, I pray that we of, the church of God’s Authority is equally yoked; that we might be able to work together in sync and have sound mind, power and love, with compassion and forgiveness. I pray for the fruits of the spirit, including kindness gentleness and self-control, for His glory.

Dear Father Yahweh, please watch me and the girls in this jail as well as the men, that we stay humble and kind and get through our time quickly and with no extra hassle.  Please be with me and the judge and prosecutor on Thursday.  And make sure the trial goes as planned so I can go home Thursday.  Please accept my surrender.  Keep me humble and help me to stay as such when I go home Thursday.  Keep K safe when he comes to get me on the 12th and everyone else too.  In the name of Jeshua, Amen

Thank you,

Cindy

Update #1 by Cindy W. at 11:22 pm on Wed 9/25/2019  The difference in the women has been amazing! The commitment of Jennifer to lead the Bible studies in the tank has led to a thirst for extra Bible studies from us and prayer circles in the tank (group cell). When I saw the women as chaplain last night, most were excited to tell me about answers to prayer, whether in their sentencing, ability to sleep, a home for their dog, or reconciliation with family members. The blessing of hope is so powerful. Thank you.
Original Prayer Request

Hello! I apologize for the delay in forwarding prayer requests. It’s taken a little longer than hoped to replace my computer and figure out the new one. I’ll bring you up to speed over the next few days or so.

Last week, Tracy & I went into the jail and I spoke to the women about the Bible and the Gospels. It was a bit dry and the women were squirrely. However, my main goal was to see if one of the women would be willing to volunteer to lead a Bible study in the tank (group cell) and commit to a specific time to do so. Jennifer stepped up and several more agreed to meet with her the following day.

Here are the prayer requests:

Dear Father Yahweh, thank you for this day and this life. Please guide me through this time in jail again. Please help me to get through this with humility… and kindness. Keep me safe and the days quick and the nights sound. Watch over mom, G, J, C, K, A, K, J, R, A etc Amen.

Kerri—I pray for all the girls in the tank (group cell). That this week goes by fast and that when I get out (she got out last Friday) that thins will go well. Amen.

Aaron—Please pray for my peace of mind to stay strong in there this time, for my girlfriend to have strength since she is alone out there right now. For all our children.

Anonymous—please pray for those being persecuted. For immigrants, poor, needy, incarcerated, judges, law enforcement, fatherless, children, addicts, addicts’ children in foster care, people being sex trafficked.

Anonymous—for my court date Wednesday.

Anonymous—I pray for my family on the outs & for my time to go faster & my relationship to stay going well & better than it is now & that it becomes a relationship & that C stays safe until I get out & the females remain calm & we get new ones. Amen! (The population in the tank—group cell—changes twice a week and, depending on the mix, it can be peaceful or stressful or anything in between.)

Lana—That my court this week will go in my favor & I would get less time than the prosecutor wants to give me. That I find peace while I’m locked up in here.

Jen—please pray that the jail system changes & we stop locking up addicts; that the war on drugs ends. Please pray they lower my bail, pray for my service dog. Pray for love, peace & happiness.

Stephanie—please pray for my family, my court & my fellow inmates.

Thank you!

Cindy
